All co-op member students are invited to participate in this exciting event (whether or not they attend classes)! You may perform a musical recital, give a speech or academic presentation, recite a poem, etc., or enter one of the MANY contests outlined below. We hope to see you - and the fruits of your labor - at the EXPO!
Important Information!
- Participation forms are due April 10th. Entries without an on-time participation form will not be accepted.
- Deadline for all entries (except Baking and Technology) is noon on Friday, but entries can be dropped off as early as Thursday between 9:15 and 2pm! We hold firm for deadlines. Late entries will not be judged.

- Students must attend the EXPO to win. If you are unable to attend, please do not enter.
- Read submission guidelines for each category thoroughly and follow the guidelines exactly. Late submissions and submissions that do not follow the guidelines outlined below will not be judged.
Guidelines
Students must turn in a participation form which includes EVERY ENTRY and is accompanied by a $3 entry fee per entry, whether a display, baked good or a performance. Cash and checks (made out to Tampa Covenant Homeschoolers) will be accepted for entry fees. Online payments and SUFS scholarship funds will not be accepted for EXPO entry fees. One participation form per student. All entries require a title and description. "Untitled" entries require a detailed description. Participation forms and related fees are due NO LATER THAN April 10th. Late participation forms will not be accepted.
NOTE CHANGES: Displays/Entries in all categories (except Baking and Technology - see categories for details) may be submitted to the Fellowship Hall on Thursday, April 30th between 9:15am and 2:00pm or on Friday between 10am and noon. Friday, May 1st at noon is the deadline for all entries (except Baking and Technology - see categories for details). Entries will not be accepted after noon on May 1st.
Baked goods must be submitted to the Fellowship Hall before 4:00 on the day of the EXPO. Late items will not be accepted. Displays and serving plates must be picked up from the Fellowship Hall at the end of the EXPO. Items left behind cannot be stored and will be donated. Make sure you take your things with you when you leave.
Technology will be judged between 4:00 and 4:45 on the day of the EXPO. Technology and creator students must be in the Fellowship Hall no later than 4:00 on the day of the EXPO. Late students' technology will not be accepted.
Academic Display Contest – Any Subject - Guidelines
- Displays should be mounted on a tri-fold display board, similar presentation board, or smaller presentation board. Written or typed items do not need to be mounted.
- Maximum two displays per student. If yours is science-related, it will be judged as a science contest submission and does not count toward the 2 display limit.
- Judges will consider four divisions: Preschool to 1st grade, 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades.
- Academic Displays must have been completed during the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 to present).
- Your name and grade should be on the BACK of your display (where the judges cannot see it).
- You must turn in a participation form - due no later than April 10th, along with the $3 entry fee.
- Academic Displays must be submitted to Tampa Covenant Church, Fellowship Hall, on Thursday April 30th between 9:15am and 2 pm or on Friday May 1st between 10am and noon. Academic Display entries will not be accepted after noon on Friday, May 1st.
Art Competition Guidelines
- Each artist may enter one piece in each of the three categories: 2-dimensional art (drawing/painting/photography), 2-dimensional DIGITAL art, and 3-dimensional art. (Digital art that include videos or games - or require a computer - should be entered in the "Technology" contest.)
- Judges will consider four divisions in each category: Preschool to 1st grade, 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades.
- Each piece must be labeled (on the back, where judges cannot see it) with the title, the artist’s name, grade, and the media with which the art was created.
- Art submitted must be original.
- Art must have been completed during the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 to present).
- Drawings and paintings may not exceed 2 feet square.
- 3-dimensional art may not exceed 3 cubic feet.
- If you are planning to display a piece of art, you MUST turn in a participation form due NO LATER THAN April 10th, along with the $3 entry fee. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Art must be submitted to Tampa Covenant Church, Fellowship Hall, on Thursday April 30th between 9:15am and 2 pm or on Friday May 1st between 10am and noon. Art entries will not be accepted after noon on Friday, May 1st.
Baking Competition Guidelines
- Each student may enter one baked item in the competition.
- Each entry must be a whole cake/pie/large item or at least 6 cookies/bars/cupcakes/small items.
- Judges will consider four divisions: Preschool to 1st grade, 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades.
- Judges will consider taste and presentation when judging.
- Students can use a found recipe, but not a boxed/bagged mix (even if the boxed/bagged mix has been altered).
- Turn in a copy of the recipe used, with the student's name and grade level on the back of the recipe, when you bring the baked item for judging.
- Displays and serving plates must be picked up from the Fellowship Hall at the end of the EXPO. Items left behind cannot be stored and will be donated. Make sure you take your things with you when you leave.

Fiber Arts Contest; Sewing, Knitting, Crochet - Guidelines
- One entry per student. No size limit. Larger items will be folded except during judging.
- Judges will consider three divisions: 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades.
- Fiber Arts must have been completed during the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 to present).
- Your name and grade should be pinned to the BACK of your piece (where the judges cannot see it).
- You must turn in a participation form - due no later than April 10th, along with the $3 entry fee.
- Fiber Arts entries must be submitted to Tampa Covenant Church, Fellowship Hall, on Thursday April 30th between 9:15am and 2 pm or on Friday May 1st between 10am and noon. Fiber Arts entries will not be accepted after noon on Friday, May 1st.
Science Project Contest Submission Guidelines

Short Story Contest Guidelines
- Judges will consider four divisions: Preschool to 1st grade, 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades.
- For the Preschool - 1st grade and 2nd - 5th grade submissions, judges will consider words and art together on the page (illustrated stories). The story will be judged more heavily than the illustrations. Illustrations will not be considered for judging (but can be submitted) for 6th - 8th graders and 9th - 12th graders.
- Each writer may enter one story for consideration.
- Short Stories must have been completed during the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 to present).
- You MUST turn in a participation form due NO LATER THAN April 10th.
- Please submit $3 entry fee along with your participation form.
- For Preschool - 1st grade and 2nd - 5th grade submissions, stories should be no more than 10 pages (8.5 x11 or smaller) in length including illustrations, font size 12 or larger.
- For 6th - 8th grade and 9th-12th grade submissions, short story may be no more than 4 pages in length (not including illustrations), font size 12 or larger, 1-inch or larger margins. Only 4 pages of the short story may include text.
- Short Stories must be submitted to Tampa Covenant Church, Fellowship Hall, on Thursday April 30th between 9:15am and 2 pm or on Friday May 1st between 10am and noon. Short Story entries will not be accepted after noon on Friday, May 1st.
Technology Contest - Guidelines
- Each student may submit one program, video, animation, or other created technology to this contest.
- This is the only category where the student must be present during judging, and judges will know the creator of the submission. (Winner will be announced during the EXPO.)
- Technology projects must have been completed during the 2025-2026 school year (August 2025 to present).
- The student will have two minutes to present their technology to the judges.
- Judges will consider three divisions: 2nd - 5th grades, 6th - 8th grades, and 9th -12th grades. For group presentations, entries will be judged in the division of the oldest participant.
- You must turn in a participation form - due no later than April 10th, along with the $3 entry fee.
- Judging will take place between 4:00 and 4:45 on May 1st, the day of the EXPO.
- Students and their technology must arrive at the Fellowship Hall by 4pm on May 1st, the day of the EXPO. Late arrivals will not be judged. Contestant students must bring all necessary technology (e.g. a screen or laptop, etc.) with them to the Fellowship Hall.
Academic and Music Recital Presentation Guidelines
- Show us what you've learned this year. Music recitals, performance art, memory work, creative videos, academic videos, recitations, poetry readings - get creative! (This is not a contest.)
- Each presentation or musical piece must not exceed 2.5 minutes in length.
- Each student is limited to one individual presentation. No limit on group presentations.
- If we receive presentations in excess of one hour total, we may limit group presentations.
- If you are planning to perform, you MUST turn in a participation form due NO LATER THAN April 10th, along with the $3 entry fee. Late submissions cannot be accepted.
